Privacy Policy for The Reviewer

This Privacy Policy describes how Siddhant Senapati ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use The Reviewer mobile application (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect and process the following categories of information when you use the Service:

A. Directly Provided Personal Data

• Email Address: Collected via Firebase Authentication when you sign up or link a federated provider (like Google Sign-In).
• Display Name/Profile Photo URL: Collected if provided by you or your federated identity provider (e.g., your Google account name).

B. User-Generated Content

Information you explicitly create and submit through the Service:

• Review Content: Product Name, Review Text, Category, Images uploaded to Firebase Storage, and associated ratings.
• Engagement Data: Comments, likes, reports, and your defined list of interests/categories.

C. Automatically Collected Data

Information automatically collected by third-party service providers (Firebase/Google):

• User Identifiers: Your unique User ID (UID) assigned by Firebase Authentication.
• Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and system activity.
• Usage Data: App interaction, screen views, session duration, and app crashes.
• Coarse Location Data: Derived from IP addresses to provide aggregated and masked geographical analytics.

2. How Your Information is Used

We use the collected data for the following essential purposes:

• To Provide and Maintain the Service: To authenticate you, enable you to post and view reviews, and save your preferences (e.g., interests).
• To Improve the Service: To understand which features are used most often, troubleshoot errors, and analyze app performance using Firebase Analytics.
• Safety and Security: To prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service (e.g., handling user reports), and protect the integrity of the Service.
• Communication: To respond to your customer service requests.

3. Disclosure of Your Information (Third-Party Services)

We share your data with the following third-party service providers to power the App. By using The Reviewer, you acknowledge and agree to the privacy practices of these entities.

• Google Play Services: Used for core Android functionality.
• Firebase Authentication: Manages user sign-up, sign-in, and account management (collects email and passwords/identifiers).
• Cloud Firestore: Provides the database service to store and retrieve all user-generated content (reviews, comments, interests).
• Firebase Analytics: Provides aggregated, anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the App.
• Firebase Cloud Storage: Used to securely store media files (images) uploaded as part of the review process.

Disclosure Required by Google: Your use of the Service is subject to the Google Privacy Policy, and we advise you to review the Google page: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use their services.

4. Your Data Rights and Choices

You have the right to access, update, or request deletion of your personal data. Since we rely primarily on Firebase services, you can exercise these rights through the following methods:

• Update Account Data: You can update your display name or profile photo directly within the app's Profile screen.
• Deletion/Access Request: You may request deletion of your account and associated data (reviews, comments) by contacting us directly at the email provided below. We will use Cloud Functions or manual processes to remove your data from Firestore and Firebase Authentication within [e.g., 30 days] of the request.
• Opt-Out of Analytics: You can typically opt-out of some data tracking by adjusting your mobile device’s advertising settings (e.g., resetting your advertising ID).

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

The Reviewer is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you become aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately so we can take steps to remove that information from our servers.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
